Sahara Senior Services is a non-profit registered organization, formed by members of the South Asian Community of Peel, Ontario, Canada.
Sahara Senior Services is a strong believer that today’s seniors are more active and technology savvy than ever before. They were interested in integrating Virtual Reality as a form of group therapy to encourage imagination, physical activity, and new immersive experiences.
VR Vision provided a lead VR trained nurse and staff to cater to the seniors group during multiple dedicated sessions. The technology used was run on fully mobile high end HTC Vive systems that allowed for maximum immersion. 35 seniors had the opportunity to experience VR content ranging from experiential with The Blu, Google Tilt Brush, Guided Meditation VR to more active applications such as VR Sports.
“Sahara Senior Services Seniors were delighted by the Virtual Reality sessions. The seniors who experienced the Virtual Reality simulations found the experience not only to be entertaining, but also educational and eye-opening. For people of all ages—but especially for Seniors—the change to enjoy new experiences is not always common. Thank you for what was literally an eye-opening experience for our Group!”
